Angela María Sánchez-Alfonso is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, Freie Universität Berlin and works as a researcher in the research group “Blurring Bundaries” at INTERACT. Her research focusses on complex land dispossession dynamics and socioenvironmental conflicts, studied from a relational and critical perspective, at the intersections between law, geography and critical theory. She holds a Law degree (Cum Laude) and Sociology, History and Economics minor degrees from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia 2014-2020), as well as a Master degree in Law (research) from the same institution (2020-2021). Apart from her academic work, Angela has worked with local communities in Colombia in the defense of their rights and territories from extractive economies and its violence’s, as well as the mobilization of the rights of nature.
